Kylie’s secret plan revealed after Aussie gig cancelled: ‘No time to slow down’

Kylie Minogue is reportedly planning to release new music following the huge success of her 2023 hit Padam Padam.

The pop princess, 55, is working on her 17th studio album, which has been said to be full of dance music, according to The Sun.

It has also been speculated Minogue will re-release her 2023 record Tension, featuring brand new music and original hits.

A source told The Sun: “Kylie has made it clear to her team this is no time to slow down. Plans are already in motion for the next two albums, one of which will be a repackage of Tension with additional songs.”

“As for the direction of album 17, it’s in the early days, but a full-on dance album is in the works.

“The plan is to release the Tension repackage towards the end of the year, with probably up to five new tracks.”

The news comes after the cancellation of Splendour in the Grass 2024, which Minogue was secured to headline later in the year.

The Aussie icon recently spent time in California with British DJ Joel Corry, who says it would “be an honour” to collaborate with the singer. 

“Kylie absolutely smashed it last year. She has taken over the charts. I’ve loved the sound of the singles. They sound really fresh and current. She is pop royalty. It would be an honour to work with her,” he said. 

Corry shared a snap of him and Minogue in the studio, writing: “Been in LA writing BANGERS all week!! Lucky to work with some very special people Heading back on tour with fresh fireee to test.”

Tension was a major success, and Minogue took to Instagram to thank her followers for their support. 

“Baby can’t you feel that my heart is beating .. 💎 TENSION 💎 is NUMBER ONE in the UK and AUSTRALIA!! THANK YOU to everyone who bought it, streamed it and made it YOURS … I am in awe of the love and support you’ve shown me. I will hold on to this moment forever!! ✨,” her caption read.
